  • hello once again my xanga friends.  work has been... well... work, but starting next week i will be at a regular store for about 6-8 weeks covering another pharmacist's maternity leave.  it will be quite a change being in the same place day to day.  in my personal life, i have decided to become more physcially fit.  and the first step to doing that was buying an elliptical machine.  normally, i would not endulge in such extravagances, but my booty was getting a little wider than i like.  also, i got a pretty good deal on this thing since i got it off craigslist.  that way, in about 2 weeks when it starts getting used as a coat rack, i won't be too down on myself cause i didn't pay full price.

we're contemplating getting a dog, but have not really worked out the logistics... such as who is going to walk it in the morning and what we'd do with it while we're at work.  i like dogs, but i'm not a big fan of the poopie.  maybe this is just a phase that i'll be quickly over.  i'd also settle for a giant goldfish, but sometimes fish require more maintenence than dogs.

allright time to go spend about 5 minutes on the elliptical before i pig out.  ttyl!

Thanks for the house compliment. :) We like it. There's so stinkin' much we want to do to it, though. It's always a massive project, that house.

Are you guys still in an apartment? Getting a dog in an apartment would be haaarsh, I think. I'd hate to actually have to physically be outside with the dog when he does his dooty. Plus, you'd probably have to pick up the poo right away at an apartment complex.

I like not having to pick up after the dog every time he goes to the bathroom. In fact, whenever we get a good rain, it pretty well takes care of the yuck in our yard. We have a tie out/leash thing that we put him on that is attached to our garage, and it's just the right length for him. A fenced-in yard would be ideal, of course, but our yard is weird.

As far as during the day, our dog is actually in his cage for -like- 10 hours. He hates it—loathes it, but he can't be trusted outside of it all day long while left to his own devices. He actually holds his poo and pee that long, though, which I find astounding because I can't hold mine for five minutes these days.

Elliptical thingies kick my arse. I get so much more tired off of one of those than just running. Maybe it's because I'm -like- too small for all of them. I don't know. So, if that's how it is for you, you should be money!

OMG, I wrote a book. Sorry about that.

If you get a dog, you'll learn to love it and thus you will want to walk it and inherently get some exercise.  At least for a couple months, then you lose your motivation and the dog's overflowing energy gets annoying.  Dogs can hold it up to 10 hrs easily.  Depending on how well it's house-trained, perhaps even so much as 14 hrs (if you're cruel).  But when you just love your baby, you want to get home and give him a break.   You just WANT to do things for him.  I love my baby.  And I love my job - it's totally what I wanted to do.  Way more work than what I had anticipated, but since I love what I do, I like going to work.  The other day, I went to CVS to get my prescription, and a customer chastised the pharmacist for how long she had to make her ride wait for her.  Her ugly attitude made me INSTANTLY and profoundly thank God repeatedly for my job.  Hey, I just found something out.  Consultant pharmacists make up to $200/hr!!!  Or some kind of crazy buccu bucks.  They can dictate their own schedule and decide to accept/reject jobs.  But of course, you have to have oodles of experience of some sort, for contracting companies to want you to help tell them what to do.  If you're ambitious, that could be something worth working towards.
